PC System Requirements: Will It Run?

By Dawnwalker Guides Last updated: September 11, 2026 Verified on version 1.0 (launch)

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a current-generation open-world action RPG, so its PC specs are what you would expect for that class of game: a mid-2010s GPU floor, 16 GB of RAM at every tier, and a mandatory SSD. Rebel Wolves published the final spec chart on August 18, 2026 with four resolution and preset targets. Below are the minimum and recommended tiers, the other two targets, and what they actually mean for your rig.

The chart recommends enabling DLSS, FSR, or XeSS for these targets. Match the complete CPU, GPU, and VRAM profile to the resolution and preset you actually want — a GPU that clears one row does not guarantee the row above it.

Will it run? The honest read

  • The RAM floor is the real gate. 16 GB is required at minimum — there is no 8 GB tier. If your machine has 8 GB, that is the upgrade to make first; it is the cheapest fix on this list.
  • The GPU floor is a 2016-generation card. GTX 1060 and RX 580 are both 2016 parts, so any card from the last decade or so nominally clears the bar. Anything older (GTX 900-series, RX 400-series, or earlier) is below the stated floor.
  • The recommended tier is current-ish midrange. An RTX 4060, RX 7600 XT, or Arc B580 is the target for a comfortable 1440p/60 experience. Note the Intel Arc entries at two tiers: Intel GPUs are explicitly in the official chart, so if you are on an Intel GPU this title is one worth trying rather than assuming.
  • SSD is not optional. Every tier says “60 GB SSD” — the official specs do not list a hard-drive option at all. If you only have an HDD, that is the single most likely cause of a bad experience, and the install requirement is not met on a spinning drive.
  • OS: Windows 10 or later with DirectX 12 at every tier. If you are already on Windows 11 you are above the stated requirement, not below it.

Practical notes

  • Storage: plan more than 60 GB of free space. The install needs 60 GB, but downloads unpack with temporary space and the early patch cycle added files — a hard 60 GB of free space is the worst possible starting point.
  • RAM: 16 GB is the number at every tier. If you run a browser with many tabs, a music player, or a capture app alongside the game, 32 GB is the comfortable setup; 16 GB is workable but tighter.
  • GPU drivers: install the latest drivers from NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel before your first session — driver releases have been shipping meaningful fixes for this title within the first week.
  • CPU: the listed CPUs (i5-11400F / Ryzen 7 2700X at minimum) are six-core-era parts. Modern equivalents — anything from an i5-12400 or Ryzen 5 5600 up — comfortably clear the minimum.

Known issues and launch-week fixes

A steady stream of hotfixes landed in the first week, and the symptoms they target are the ones to check before you assume your hardware is at fault:

  • Hotfix 1.0.2 (Sept 3): quest fixes (a Farkas interaction, tutorial pathing, a holy-sword crafting step) plus PC-only controller dead-zone and sprint-input adjustments.
  • Hotfix 1.0.3 (Sept 4): adds DualSense support on PC (Steam and GOG).
  • Hotfix 1.0.4 (Sept 9): a saving blocker, FPS drops on Steam when connecting a controller with outdated GameInput, and an FSR Frame Generation + VSync fix (PC only).

Two standing workarounds from the official notes: if you get stutter in Windowed or Borderless mode, run Full Screen while that is investigated; if you crash while compiling shaders, make sure your system BIOS is up to date and follow the hardware maker’s own update instructions (never flash firmware meant for a different model).

If you are deciding what to buy alongside the game, see the editions comparison — the content is identical across all four editions, so your hardware budget is the only real constraint. Once you are in, the beginner guide will get you through the first stretch, and the 30-day timer guide explains the one system that shapes the whole playthrough — a sluggish frame rate is never a reason to rush it, since exploration and combat cost no story time.

Frequently asked questions

Does my PC meet the minimum requirements for The Blood of Dawnwalker?

You meet the official minimum if you have an Intel Core i5-11400F or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X-class CPU, 16 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580 (or better) GPU with at least 6 GB VRAM, and a 60 GB SSD, on Windows 10 with DirectX 12. Everything is listed in the tables below.

How much storage space does The Blood of Dawnwalker need?

60 GB, and the official specs list an SSD for every tier — a hard drive is not an officially supported option.

Is 8 GB of RAM enough?

No. 16 GB is required at minimum, and it is also the recommended amount — 16 GB appears at every tier of the official chart.

Do I need Windows 11?

No. The official chart lists Windows 10 or later with DirectX 12 for every tier. Windows 10 is the stated baseline, so Windows 11 is above the requirement, not a requirement itself.
