This page maps all 8 endings of The Blood of Dawnwalker: the four main endings, three hidden endings, and one bad ending. The main and hidden endings are determined by the dialogue in the final quest, A Deal with the Devil, and by which ally chains you complete — not by how you win the fight itself. The bad ending (Time Runs Out) is triggered when the 30-day window expires. A previously unconfirmed prologue branch — beating Brencis in the Bad Blood fight — is now cross-verified as an eighth distinct ending.
How to read this: ending names and categories are confirmed; the exact in-game conditions below reflect launch-day (v1.0) information. Re-verify against the key choice timeline and your own playthrough, and report corrections via the comment section.

The two levers behind the endings: your dialogue choices in the final quest (which pick the main and hidden endings, alongside which ally chains you completed) and your position on the 30-day clock (which alone determines the bad ending, Time Runs Out). Time pressure is not a fail state — exceeding 30 days does not end the game; it only resolves the family outcome badly.
The four main endings
1. Turncoat
The “sell out” ending. Coen accepts Brencis’s bargain — trading an ally for his family.
Best for: players who want the darker, morally grey Coen. This is the route that leans hardest into the Blood Hunger side of the character.
2. Folk Hero
The “do it alone” ending. Coen defeats Brencis without Lacra or Crake at his side — all the glory is his alone.
In A Deal with the Devil, choose “Enough. Time to end this” to reject the negotiations and fight Brencis solo. Keep enough days on the clock for the family outcome to resolve positively (this is the route behind the In the Nick of Time achievement).
3. Patricide
The personal ending — the name says what it is. Coen faces Brencis together with Lacra.
4. Knyazmaker
The “kingmaker” ending. Coen becomes the power who decides who rules — standing with Crake and the Manumits.
This route requires completing Crake’s full questline (The Firebrand → Shadows in the Woods → Where Loyalty Lies → What Hunts the Night → What Moves the Dead → Who Pulls the Strings → Rise at Dawn → the final mission Fall Before Dusk). Staying neutral does not earn it — you must be on Crake’s side when it counts.
The hidden endings
Three hidden endings. All gated by specific locations and choices that do not obviously look like “ending choices” at the time:
5. A Hero They Deserve
Escape the valley forever — the “easy out” ending.
Precise conditions (cross-verified across allthings.how, kosgames.com, and method.gg):
- Complete prologue; open world must be accessible
- Must be night (vampire form required for abilities)
- Unlock Shadowstep (Vampirism tree) + Planeshift (for the climb)
- From Coward’s Path Shrine in Briar Sloughs, go to the broken bridge, use Shadowstep to cross
- Walk west to the open gate, interact, choose
[leave the valley forever] - ⚠️ Save before approaching — no second confirmation. Triggers immediately, no return.
What happens: Coen walks through the gate; cutscene flashes to modern-day high-rise where Coen awaits a blood delivery. Corrupted roots burst through the window — sequel teaser. Unlocks The Blood of Dawnwalker achievement + A Hero They Deserve.
6. Together Forever
Dream-loop trap ending.
Precise conditions (selphie1999gaming.com + method.gg):
- Travel to Silts Tower, reach top floor
- Inspect the door to trigger Home Sweet Home quest (4 time segments — save first)
- Defeat enemies inside, fight mini-boss Keeper of Nightmares, reach church cutscene
- After church, you loop back to the start of the dream
- Go through the sequence 4 more times (total 5 runs of the loop) — you will unlock the achievement on the 5th beginning
- After unlocking, reload the pre-loop save; to escape the loop normally, inspect the well and choose
[Alin]dialogue option
8. Beat Brencis in Prologue (secret — previously unconfirmed)
Win the duel you are supposed to lose in the opening chapter. The hardest ending to unlock (games.gg cross-verified: no trophy awarded). No confirmed specific rewards or post-credits content — likely an Easter egg path.
The bad ending (Time Runs Out)
The bad ending triggers when the 30-day window expires before the family is saved: the family is sacrificed. It is not caused by switching sides or by “incoherent” earlier choices — endings are set by the final-quest dialogue, and exceeding the timer simply resolves the family outcome badly. The game does not end when the timer runs out; you still finish the campaign in a changed world.
Chasing all endings: practical plan
- Run 1 — no timer pressure: play at your own pace, aim for Folk Hero (the most forgiving ending).
- Run 2 — hidden routes: target A Hero They Deserve (Coward’s Path escape — fastest hidden) or Together Forever (Silts Tower dream loop — needs 5 cycles).
- Run 3 — the ally routes: commit to Lacra’s full questline for Patricide, or to Crake’s full questline (through Fall Before Dusk) for Knyazmaker, or accept Brencis’s bargain for Turncoat — pick your target and finish the chain that gates it.
- Run 4 (optional): let the 30-day window expire on purpose to see the bad ending, Time Runs Out, in action.
- Run 5 (secret — hardest): attempt Beat Brencis in Prologue — win the unwinnable duel. No trophy, no confirmed rewards, pure Easter egg.
Before every run, check the missable content list — several early events are time-gated and do not re-appear.
